Fuel cell drive trains provide, apart from battery electric vehicles, another possibility for emission-free mobility of the near future. Although tank-to-wheel efficiencies are lower compared to battery-electric vehicles, the produced waste heat provides thermal comfort without compromising the cruising range. However advanced and flexible thermal management systems gain importance to improve the overall system efficiency and the opration conditions of the vehicle subsystems, especially of fuel cell stack and hybrid battery.

In this seminar results of a current research project will be presented, where a highly branched thermal management system of a fuel cell vehicle has been modeled to investigate the interactions of the several subsystems. The modelling approach will be presented and the results, which have been obtained up to now, will be discussed.
