Vehicle thermal management has become a key enabler for overall vehicle efficiency driven by modern thermal systems which combine the previously separated domains of cooling system and HVAC system design. This poses challenges but also interesting new opportunities for thermal engineers.
Heat pump systems to overcome EV range problems in winter, A/C chillers for battery systems in hot summer conditions - these are just two examples where the worlds of cooling system design and air conditioning merge to a modern thermal management approach. But also in conventional combustion engine systems the pressure from increasingly strict environmental regulations leads to more complex systems and new components. And this trend currently spreads from passenger car applications and trucks to off-highway applications.
This leads to an ever increasing demand for system level thermal simulation models - to investigate different variants in early design phases, to assess the potentials of new components and technologies and, last but not least, for the virtual development of optimized control strategies. Our KULI user meeting offers you an opportunity to learn about the latest trends and developments.
