Thermal Management Services

Thermal management simulation is essential in the development process of every new vehicle. Knowing the precise thermal influences of components is necessary for an optimal design as it influences energy consumption, emissions, noise, fatigue, and other parameters. But the necessary expertise to perform the required sophisticated simulations and calculations becomes more and more complex.

At ECS we have experience with thermal management for more than 25 years. You can leverage this expertise by ordering a simulation project. Different categories of projects are available, e.g.:

  • Full featured complete thermal management projects, including KULI simulation, CFD simulation, and measurements
  • KULI simulation projects to solve a problem completely by us
  • Assistance for your KULI team for certain tasks; either at our location or on-site
  • Improving your KULI simulation environment, e.g. by setting up Excel macros or linking KULI to your Matlab/Simulink Environment

Our range of experience includes the following areas:

Passenger car projects, including the following topics:

  • Concept studies - size and position of cooling components

In almost all these projects KULI is used as the central tool. The close cooperation between the KULI development team and the KULI projects team enables us to fully exploit all features of KULI in our projects. Moreover, suggestions and improvements for KULI that turn out in those projects are quickly implemented into KULI.

A project can also be combined with other services. In particular it is often interesting to couple a heat management simulation with

  • CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulations
  • Thermal management measurements
  • Acoustic measurements and optimizations
  • Thermo shock or vibration tests of radiators or complete cooling packages
