KULI 13.2 released
KULI 13.2 has been released, focusing on the following areas:
- The A/C solver has been further optimized, improving convergence speed (in particular in cases of A/C circuits containing TXV(s) with defined superheating), calculation of point masses in A/C circuits, and more.
- Additional options enable fine tuning of the solver when simulating heat conduction networks.
- New features like specifying the path of media files via COM and updates to the COM object streamline the process of generating and using FMUs.
- Additional files for speed-controlled fans from TRUFLO are added to the KULI installation, simplifying the set up of simulation models with realistic component data right out of the box.
Apart from these new features numerous smaller improvements and enhancements have been included into this new version of KULI. For a list of all modifications please refer to the Release Notes, which can also be found in the KULI Online Help.
KULI 13.2 is available for download and can be used with a license for KULI 13.
KULI FMU Generator released
The KULI FMU Generator is a tool that lets you export a KULI model as an FMU to be used in comprehensive co-simulation scenarios. A KULI FMU is self-contained and follows the FMI standard 2.0 (see https://fmi-standard.org/). As a consequence, a KULI FMU does not require any KULI installation on the target machine. All files required for the simulation are included in the FMU. The interface of the FMU can be fully defined in KULI using the well-known KULI COM objects. In KULI simply mark the COM object as an FMU connector and you are done. In addition, you can also give the connector a description and additional information, so that your FMU is even more intuitive to use.
Exporting the model is also easy. With just a few clicks, your model is exported and ready to be used in an FMI compatible co-simulation environment on any Windows machine. The FMU Generator automatically reads all the relevant IDs and comments as well as the default values and the units of the COM objects and generates appropriate interfaces. In addition, help files and icons can easily be added to the FMU.
It should also be mentioned that the FMU Generator does not require any special privileges for installation. In addition, product updates can be installed with just one click. Exchanging a KULI model is simple as never before.
HDMB Comparer released
The HDMB Comparer supports the user in comparing two KULI simulation result files. With this tool it is easy to find out which calculated values differ between two simulations. A table gives you an overview of the affected values. Extensive filtering options enable a quick navigation to selected values. After selecting a value, a detailed comparison can then be carried out. A table and a diagram provide the possibilities to compare the values in both a numerical and a graphical way.
Threshold values, specified by the user, help to hide irrelevant deviations in the evaluation. The HDMB Comparer supports result files in .hdmb format from all KULI versions and is available free of charge. Like the FMU generator, the HDMB Comparer does not need any special user rights for installation. Here, too, product updates are possible with just one click.
KULI MediaX 14 released
The new version of KULI MediaX now supports 64-bit client applications. As a result, the range of applications has also expanded significantly, because it is now possible to access the extensive KULI fluid database even from current applications, such as the latest 64-bit versions of Matlab. Note that licenses for MediaX can also be obtained independently from KULI itself such that it can be used whenever there is the need for access to fluid properties.
